Training

Relevant and focused course formats are tailored to ensure that CDT training really delivers. Addressing real needs and of course, covering any specific issues requested by the client.

Drivers who have completed our initial course may wish to consider further training to complete and pass the RoSPA Advanced Driving Test, which benefits all parties.

During a typical session, we aim to maximise learning through effective and relaxed training techniques. Our qualified trainers are passionate in delivering high standards of training whatever the course.

Duration:

Full or half day sessions.

Driver/Trainer Ratio

2:1 full day or 1:1 half day (variable depending on the training vehicle used for the session).

Aims:

To reduce the risk of your drivers being involved in a crash, and to ensure your drivers adopt a safe driving policy whilst being aware of issues such as vehicle wear and tear, fuel economy and a reduction in Co2 emissions.

Objectives:

At the end of the session your drivers will:

  • Have an understanding of how hazard recognition can aid crash avoidance.
  • Have an understanding of the major causes of road crashes, and understand the concept of avoidability in road crashes.
  • Have an understanding of how driver attitude / behaviour can effect driving performance and damage the environment.
  • Have an understanding of how stress, concentration and fatigue can affect a poor driving performance.
  • Update knowledge, laws, and company regulations.

Method:

Our trainers will carry out an initial on road assessment, identifying issues that may require further attention to detail. As an example subjects may revolve around safety, smoothness or of a potential fuel saving matter. A relaxed de-brief will then be followed by a demonstration drive, where the trainer will example best practise. The rest of the training session will be focused on attention to detail. Where there is more than one driver in the vehicle, the learning process is continued during the non-driving period, as the non driver is actively included. A final report will be supplied to both the delegate and company recording the day’s events.
